eToro One Click Trading explained

eToro One Click Trading is known in the trading industry as the ‘point and click’. Basically, one is able to instantly execute all buy/sell orders with a click of a mouse button. It is one of the preferred trading modes of active intraday traders, who make money by scalping the markets, even for a few ticks.

(NOTE: Before we continue, we have to give a disclaimer that the trading products offered by the companies listed on this website carry a high level of risk and can result in the loss of all your funds. CFDs are complicated instruments that are never guaranteed to provide you supplemental earnings.  In fact, Around 68% of all retail investors experienced a loss while trading CFDs. Make sure to keep this in mind before attempting to use the eToro platform yourself. All the information found on this website is not official trading advice and all practices shown are referenced for the use of the Demo account only.)

Why do pro traders use this feature?

For professional traders, reaction time is everything as quick decisions need fast execution. This is why one click trading is so important – you get in and out of the market immediately, with no other confirmation messages delaying your execution. eToro One Click Trading helps you to achieve that precisely and additionally it also helps to manage your trade by setting up some predetermined values for Stop loss and Take profit orders. We will have a closer look at these values in the second part of this article.

Is One Click Trading available for all markets?

Indeed it is. For every market you trade, be it currency pairs (EUR/USD), indices (SPX500) or commodities (Gold and Oil, for example), you can set up one click trading. It is fairly easy to do and after the initial setup, you will have this trading mode activated for all future trades. There is one thing you must keep in mind, though. You need to activate the one click trading mode for each and every instrument you trade. Below there is a quick instruction on how to do it.

Setting up One Click Trading on the eToro platform

You first need to go to the settings panel in the bottom left corner of your screen (as on the image below).

eToro One Click

Then, you need to activate One Click Trading.

The second step is to click on the buy or sell buttons from the instrument you want one click trading enabled. Now all you need to do is to set up your position size (amount in $ or units) and three very important trade parameters: leverage (or how much you want to borrow), stop loss (which is predefined at a maximum of 50% of the position size) and take profit (which can be set up to 1000%). Remember to click on the “use these settings in one click trading mode” and all your future trades on this instrument will be using the amount and parameters defined above. You can replicate the second step for all the other instruments you currently trade.

Now that you are all set up for one click trading, every buy and sell order will be executed immediately, with no further confirmations needed.

Does One Click Trading match your trading style?

As there are as many trading styles as there are traders, the One Click Trading mode might not suite everyone. But it is especially useful for active intraday traders to whom fast entry and exit mean the difference between a good and an average trade. If your style is more into swing trading, then instant execution might not bring so much added value to your work. Nevertheless, being able to react quickly to market opportunities is a skill that every trader should develop constantly – it can prove to be an important cutting edge point in your trading.

Note for beginners: if you decide to activate this feature, always be careful where you click on the screen, as the area of the buy and sell buttons will immediately trigger the opening of a new position. Sometimes, a confirmation message can keep you away from a trading error.

Leave the frustration behind

eToro One Click Trading is an incredibly useful execution tool, that will help you avoid the frustration of losing the perfect entry point because of another pop-up confirmation message. Try to remember that pro traders focus most on execution for a very good reason. Although the phrase “time is money” has a different origin, it fits perfectly within the trading world. Do not forget the importance of solid understanding of trading basics and strategies, as well as practicing your skills before investing real money. Good luck!
